WOW!!! What amazing customer service!!! So, check it: I ordered some signs for my new business from amazon.com almost 2 weeks ago. They were supposed to arrive between mon-thurs this week… well it’s coming up on saturday and still no signs. The amazon company gave some bs story about why i didn’t have my order. I look around online, and by serendipity, found a jax based company! Not only did he answer the phone at 10pm, but he’s going to deliver the signs I need to my business tomorrow, install them for me, and since he’s out of stock on one of the flags I want, he’s going to loan me a similar one for a week and then swap it for me when the one I want comes in!!! How amazing is this guy?!! Thank you so much FlagsAndSigns.com!! Thank you Andreas!!

Check them out: http://flagsandsigns.com/shop/

Learned a neat trick from Scott May, and is something that we will begin implementing with Time4Mobile. Apparently, you can add your logo, graphic, or whatever you want to the center of your QR Code, without it affecting the code! According to Scott, you can not really make your logo larger than about 25-30% of the width and height of the QR Code, but you can put your logo directly in the middle so that you have your branding on that nifty little square. Also, you can change the color of the QR Code, as long as it has enough contrast from the white background for devices to pick it up!

Thank you Scott for these awesome tips!

Here are some examples:

If you need to make a presentation that will just blow people out of the water, and you need to make it quickly, we found the program that is right for you!

Prezi

Prezi is an amazing presentation tool that nearly anybody can use! You can try it for free and upgrade if you like it. It’s only $59 / year for probably everything that you would need. You can upgrade to the $159 / year version if you work a lot without internet, but the $59 / year version does everything I need (but you have to be connected to the internet). You can also easily embed your prezi right into your website, much like a YouTube video!

Go check out Prezi.com for more info.

Oh, and if you have an email address ending in ‘.edu’ you can get the $59 version for free and $159 version for $59 (if you’re a student or teacher).

iMakeThat is not a part of, nor is connect to Prezi in any way. We simply think it is something that we found Amazing and want more people to know about their great product.

My buddy forwarded me the following and thought that I would share as I am an avid Mac (Apple) user.

I have added my definition in the ‘( my definition )’ after most statements.

Quick Definitions:
OS X = Operating System 10 (Basically, the MAC Operating System)
IMHO = In My Humble Opinion (I had to look this one up)

Why there are no viruses for OS X

Sat, 19 July 2008
Just came across an interesting discussion on Whirlpool, where a poster asks why there are no viruses for OS X. The quick and obvious answer by a few “enthusiast experts” was that the market share of OS X is so small that nobody really bothers writing any malware for Mac.

Yes, this is the most common answer you get from people who also answer “right-click” when asked what Macs can’t do that Windows can. Sigh! (most people think you cannot “right-click” since that is not the “system default” on a Mac)

There is no silver bullet answer as to why not, its a combination of reasons:

1 OS X is built on UNIX. UNIX was a multi user system with a security architecture built into it at the beginning. WINDOWS came from a single user architecture with security and multi user capability as an after thought.

2 UNIX had networking built into it from the beginning, again in Windows this was bolted in at a later date. (basically Apple had it right from the beginning)

3 Windows built Internet Explorer into the O/S at a very deep level, and allowed code execution within the browser. In OS X the browser is a completely separate application, its not a integral part of the OS. IMHO, this is the fundamental screw-up Microsoft made, as they created so many hooks into which someone can attack the OS. (Internet Explorer is actually built so deep into the Operating System of Windows, that if you fully remove it from your machine, you will not be able to effectively run Microsoft Office!!! That is absolutely insane!!!)

4 In earlier Windows everything ran as the system user, so the capability to compromise an entire system was easier. (see reason 1)

5 Microsoft’s backward compatibility mantra doesn’t do them any favours as to run old software they need so many old APIs, all of which can have holes in them. (Backwards compatibility means that an old version of something can run an new version of something… ex. a backwards compatible Playstation 3 can run Playstation 2 games)

6 OS X has no registry. IMHO, second fundamental flaw Microsoft made. (Ya… um… no clue on this one)

7 OS X asks for your password before allowing you to run new software or install something. Not fool proof, but at least fool resistant. (Nothing can automatically install itself)

Personally I don’t buy the “lack of market share” reason. Consider that in pre OS X days Macs did have viruses. Also interesting, that at that stage Macs were suffering point 1 & 2.

No system is totally safe, but Macs have a lot of architecture working in their favor.
